Can Prius owners program a Prius Smart Key System FOB?

There's one way to repair a Toyota Prius keyless remote smart key, and it has to do with reprogramming the SKS keys' code. On Generation II, this does not require the replacement of the vehicle computer. This is more involved than the reset procedure for the door locks and starting of the Prius, and it is usually performed by a Toyota dealer. The main reason for this is that there is a specialized code reader/programmer needed for this, and it is expensive. Check around for the best dealer price if you need an SKS Prius key re-programmed.

Difficulty:
Moderately Challenging
