How to Fix a Toyota Camry Brake Light
Eventually all light bulbs burn out. Over time the same is true for your Toyota Camry brake lights. things you'll need:
- 5W type C brake bulb

Open the driver's side door and pull the trunk release switch. Open the trunk.
- 2
Find the rear light assembly cover in the trunk. Note that it is a hard plastic rectangular cover directly behind each rear light assembly.
- 3
Locate which light needs replacement and make a mental note. Have a partner look at the brake lights while you depress the brake petal, if you are unsure.
- 4
Grasp the sides of the cover firmly and pull it open. There is a hinge on the outer side of the cover.
- 5
Locate the center bulb. This is the brake light bulb.
- 6
Twist the bulb and connecting electrical boot counterclockwise and pull it directly out of the light assembly.
- 7
Remove the bulb from the electrical boot by pulling it directly out.
- 8
Insert a new 5W type C brake light bulb into the electrical boot. Push the bulb directly into the boot until it is snugly connected.
- 9
Insert the electrical boot back into the light assembly, lining up the pins on the boot with the cut-out sections in the assembly. Twist the boot clockwise to secure it.
- 10
Test the brakes and have a partner check to make sure the new bulb is working properly.
- 11
Swing the cover closed and press it until you hear an audible "click." Close the trunk.
