How to Code a Toyota FOB Key

Most Toyota vehicles feature keyless entry capabilities.

Toyota vehicles are equipped with keyless entry capabilities that allow you easy remote access to your vehicle's features. Most Toyota models offer this technology at the dealership, but they also allow you to have the transmitter installed aftermarket. Once the vehicle is equipped with this technological feature, you can code your Toyota FOB remotes in just minutes right from the front seat of your car.

     Sit inside of your car and close and lock all of the doors and trunk, except for the driver's door, which you will open and unlock.

   • 2

     Insert and remove the key from the ignition twice. Close and open the door twice. Insert and remove the key from the ignition again and close and open the door two more times.

     Put the key into the ignition again, close the door, turn the key "On" and then "Off" and then remove the key again.

     Wait for the locks to cycle. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on your remote for two seconds.

     Release the two buttons and press and hold just the lock button for approximately three seconds and wait for the locks to cycle to indicate successful programming. Remove the key from the ignition to end the programming.
